Friends of the Beauchamp Arms

As we approach the 20th year since the Beauchamp Arm’s was purchased by the Parish Council with the help of a 20 year Government loan, it seems an appropriate time to remind everyone in the Parish about FoBA.

The Friends of the Beauchamp Arms was formed in 2003 by a small group of Dymock villagers with the aim of raising money to enhance the facilities at the pub. Money raising events have included Tug of War, fun days, treasure hunts, dances, comedy shows, auctions, raffles and quizzes, while other events, most notably the Tree of Light, has focused, with St Mary’s Church, on charitable fund raising. With your help and support we have raised over £70,000 during the past 13 years. All of which has been spent on the pub.

The first money spent was to renew the main porch and to paint the exterior of the building.  Since then new double glazed windows have been installed which certainly cut down the traffic noise in the public rooms but also ensured that the private rooms allowed a good nights sleep! Prior to the windows being put in £10,000 was used to help the Parish Council redevelop the bar area to incorporate the toilets. Our most recent project was the renewal of the main bar, which, thanks to the skill and hard work of two local craftsmen, Fred and Ian, is now a feature of the pub.

None of this would have been possible without you, the patrons of the Beauchamp Arms. If you would like to join us or if you have an idea for an event do come along to a meeting. Your support for the events has always been exceptionally good and FoBA are very grateful to you for your continued support. Thank you.
